Razavi University of Islamic Sciences must be a hub for elites and a place for responding to doubts and misunderstandings in the society.

Speaking for a group of students on the occasion of new academic year, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said: “Imam Khomeini (RA) taught us how to do our duty in the best possible way without thinking about the results. What matters is strive to do and conduct the task; it is the Almighty God who will determine the result.”

He introduced observation of God’s commandments as the main route to success, saying, “All those living a successful life and reaching some levels of pure faith and spiritual perfection have already forsaken all their personal desires and selfish passions.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, AQR chief custodian referred to the secularism’s anticipation over downfall of religion in human societies in the 60s and stated: “The Western culture unveiled a society without religion then and introduced the religion as a personal issue. As such, a Western intellectual and author published a book in 1960s titled The Homeless Mind. According to this book, there would be no place for any religion in human society in the near future.”

“A few years later and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the same author wrote some articles and renounced his previous claims over the relation between religion and the society saying religious beliefs are highly increasing in social and political arenas and they have been partly affected by Iran’s Islamic Revolution,” he added.

Hoj. Marvi noted that thanks to the Islamic Revolution, religion has now entered into the society.

“Enemies have been very active in their fight against religion in recent years. As a result, numerous unprecedented doubts and misunderstandings have been formed on religion, presence of God, and Divine Revelation. Seminary schools are responsible to provide logical responses to these phony doubts,” he further noted.

AQR chief custodian reflected on social networks and the World Wide Web stating that they have opened a new chapter in today’s world communications so that one is now able to be in connection with the entire world by having a smartphone. “Therefore, it is not possible to block diversionary texts anymore as thousands of pages are creating doubts and misunderstanding about religious values every day.”

Elaborating on the responsibilities of Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, Hoj. Marvi said: “There are many different higher education institutes in the country and various organizations such as IRIB, the Judiciary system, and the Oil Ministry have got their own academic centers to nurture manpower they need. Razavi University of Islamic Sciences is affiliated to Astan Quds Razavi, so it should train students for Imam Reza (AS) and what the Imam wants is nothing but to revive his conduct.”

AQR chief custodian went on to say: “Razavi University of Islamic sciences’ alumni must be experts in all religious and social issues the country is challenging with. As the chief custodian of the organization, I do believe that only country’s experts and elites must enter this university and we have to train scholars not only for jurisprudence but for all other areas”.

According to him, the university must pay attention to the quality of the students not their quantity. “After 10 or 20 years, we should be able to claim that this university enjoys a kind of comprehensiveness and trains experts in various fields”.

He added: “The university must be able to respond to various problems of the Iranian society and counteract all the doubts attacking thought and faith of the young people”.

“We will take our greatest efforts to run an academic center in line with standards coming from Imam Reza’s conduct and thought,” he concluded.

The ceremony also included inauguration of a center for skill learning and job counseling and a special program for commemorating outstanding students in recent Student Olympiad of the country.
