Astan Quds Razavi, Astan Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) and Astan Hazrat Abdul Azim (AS), issued a joint statement apologizing to the faithful and noble people of Islamic Iran due to “temporary restrictions” on pilgrimage and rendering services to the pilgrims.

The announcement reads:
In the name of God, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Oh, how hardships are settled with his help.
The faithful and noble nation of Islamic Iran, who are deeply enthralled and devoted to the Infallible Imams (AS);
Now that in the last days of winter 2020, the world and Iran have been gravely affected, without doubt by trusting in God along with endeavor, patience and empathy we can go through this difficult calamity, and again with the spring of health and blessing be happy and sing a song of joy.
It was the purpose of successive generations, which in the light of the friendship and affection of the Infallible Imams on the blessed days of the months of Rajab and Sha’ban, as well as on the eve of Eid Nowruz, to stand on the threshold of holy shrines and enjoyed its pure blessings.
The holy establishments nationwide, this year as in previous years, with various spiritual, cultural, media, promotional and artistic programs had prepared a large deal of ceremonies to respond to the enthusiasm of the devotees in the sacred months and New Year’s events.
By the arrival and spread of coronavirus and the advice of health authorities on the serious dangers of public gatherings, it has been a while that all gatherings and programs of the holy shrines are suspended and now with a more serious spread of the virus across the country and around the world, with a broken heart, a difficult decision was made to make a temporary restriction, and with so much sorrow we apologize to the Infallible Imams for not being able to provide services to dear pilgrims.
God willing, with the cooperation of IRIB, the mass media and cyberspace, remote pilgrimage and visual communication will be provided for the pilgrims.
In the end, we humbly pray to God to restore health to all the patients of this disease in Islamic Iran and in the world, forgiveness for the deceased and removing the blight. Furthermore, we express condolences to the grieving families and we pray for the success of the medical staff.
We hope that there will be a quicker use of the full grace of presence in the sacred places, which according to Imam Sajjad (AS):
Difficulties were resolved in the face of your potency and by your favor the means are afforded.
