A change of presidents does not alter America’s colonial and oppressive policies: chief custodian
It does not matter who is elected as the president in the United States, because the change of people does not alter their policies, says Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, stating that “our position in this regard is the same as that of the Revolution’s Leader.”

Speaking at a meeting with the AQR council of deputies, he pointed to the US presidential election, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran is opposed to Washington’s colonial and exploitative policies. “The rhetoric and methods of Republicans and Democrats may be different, but their plans and goals are the same unless they change their policies in order for Iran to see them in a different light, which is unlikely.”
Referring to US crimes and conspiracies in the region, he remarked that Democrats played a key role in establishing and supporting the evil lineage of Daesh Takfiri group. Democrats are historically known for their intervention in the region as well as supporting Israel and the reactionary governments.
Elsewhere, Hoj. Marvi pointed to unfavorable conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the country and in the world, reiterating AQR’s compliance with the health policies of the National Coronavirus Task Force according to the Leader’s advice.
He underscored the need to pay attention to spirituality, prayer and the role of the holy shrine in deepening spirituality in the society while asking the task force to seek advice from the holy shrines’ officials, the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in particular, before making any decision.
“The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has capacities, sensitivities and facilities that are not available in many other centers. Regardless of the sanctity and spirituality of this establishment, it cannot be said that the holy shrine is similar to other crowded centers such as shopping malls and the subway,” he commented.
Hoj. Marvi added: “It may not be possible to control the situation in some densely populated areas. At the holy shrine complex, however, all the precautions including the extent of the place and required facilities, distribution of masks and enforcing social distancing renders it completely manageable.”
According to the AQR custodian’s appointment decree, issued by the Revolution’s Leader, the establishment is to cooperate with government departments and assist them whenever needed. This is what they did from the outbreak of the pandemic, i.e. mobilizing all their resources to deal with the coronavirus and to help the victims and the needy.
