AQR’s libraries organization, Bavarian State Library ink MoU on cooperation
Astan Quds Razavi’s Libraries, Museums and Documents Organization and Bavarian State Library in Germany have inked a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in different areas including library sciences, service development and information exchange.

The MoU was signed online by head of AQR’s libraries organization, Hoj. Seyyed Jalal Hosseini and his counterpart in Bavarian State Library Dr. Klaus Ceynowa.
The two sides agreed upon more cooperation over implementation of joint projects and in areas of library sciences, service development, information exchange, technological innovations particularly digitalization, and development of cultural interactions. 
Briefing the German side on the libraries organization’s achievements, Hoj. Hosseini said: “AQR library is one of the prodigies of the mankind with over 1100 years of age. This library keeps rich sources including 160 thousand manuscripts and lithographic copies, some of which over 1000 years old”.    
He also referred to 14 million archived items of the organization and 500-year-old historical age of some of its sources, saying: “This is a precious human heritage which we are trying to share with world’s research centers in order to prevail science, alongside our focus on saving and protecting it”. 
Pointing to the registration of 66 thousand documents of AQR, dating over 400 years in UNESCO, he stated that the organization does not intend to imprison information and scientific sources but to make them available for all researchers all over the world. 
According to Hosseini, AQR has plans to follow techniques of saving cultural fundamentals and to promote them at global level. “To attain this goal, the organization is now following book diplomacy with other global scientific bodies”. 
“With respect to this newly signed agreement with Bavarian State Library, we can now provide German researchers with access to AQR library’s sources”, he added. 
Elsewhere in this ceremony, Dr. Klaus Ceynowa introduced Bavarian State Library, emphasizing on joint cooperation with AQR’s libraries particularly on digitalization experiences. 
Sharing information, experiences, organizational knowledge and exchange of experts, exchanging library materials and digital collections, providing joint training courses, internships and visits, research collaborations especially in relation with the development of a joint strategy for digitization and long-term preservation of digital information are some articles of the joint MoU.
