Uncontrolled imports obstacle to production leap, prosperity of employment: AQR chief custodian
Uncontrolled imports are main causes of the country’s poor performance in production leap and prosperity of employment, says Astan Quds Razavi’s chief custodian Hoj. Ahmad Marvi in a meeting with members of Iran’s Halal Council at Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s martyr Soleimani auditorium.

Blaming uncontrolled imports as hurdles for resistance economy, Hoj. Marvi said: “Unnecessary imports of some goods have imposed problems on manufacturing units so that a number of them had to shut down. All officials in charge must take measures to stop imports of domestically producible goods to pave the way for domestic production leap”.
Referring to the important responsibility of Iran’s Halal Council in surveillance over imports of Halal items, he pointed to the great turnover of Halal industry in the world, adding: “With respect to the high number of Islamic countries and large Muslim population around the world, Halal market is tremendous and prosperous in a way that even non-Muslims welcome Halal production.
“As Iran has got a very great potential in production and exports of a wide range of products, it can play significant role in this market. This opportunity has not been employed properly and Iran does not have its proper position in this market, however”.
Elsewhere, Hoj. Marvi underscored development of Halal brand, saying: “The brand of Halal involves different issues and areas one of which is food and health products. It’s possible to create a model for standardization of Halal among Islamic countries in various areas such as tourism industry, production of cultural products and services, education, etc.”
According to him, Halal market and industry can be a joint area of cooperation in economic and non-economic sectors among different Islamic countries. “Fulfillment of this cooperation can exert influence on Western countries”.
