 Mazaarat Intl. Photo Festival announces selected works for competition
Some 204 works from among 8000 works of art have been selected for Mazaarat International Photo Festival’s competition in two sections of “prayer” and “architecture of Islamic shrines” from 151 local and foreign photographers, coming from 30 world countries.

Amin Ebrahimi, executive secretary of the Festival, stated that the works by 40 foreign photographers from Turkey, Bangladesh, Bahrain, India, Iraq, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Spain are among the accepted works.
“Furthermore, the accepted list includes names of 111 local photographers from 20 provinces of the country. The closing ceremony of the festival will be held in May 2021 along with release of the book of the selected works,” he said.
The selected photographers will receive a certificate of participation in the festival and the PDF-formatted book of selected works will be sent to all participants via email.
The jury comprised of Raha Bilir from Turkey and also Mohammad Sattari, Abbas Mirhashemi, Ebrahim Bahrami and Ahmad Khatiri from Iran on March 4–5 this year.
Ebrahim Bahrami, a member of the jury of the festival, elsewhere, pointed to the process of judging, saying that it was done professionally and the best photos, which were in line with the specified themes and also were of the highest quality and technical level entered the exhibition section.
The works received at this festival narrated prayer in Islamic shrines from different angles in which unrepeatable emotions can be seen.
Emphasizing the importance of the participation of photographers from different countries in the festival he noted, “Undoubtedly, this festival has the capacity to be held in the coming years and its subjects can even be expanded to themes such as ‘prayer in the divine religions’ with more photographers.”
