Dignity is the reward of resistance: chief custodian
The long-lasting and devastating war in Syria has scarred the country in an unimaginable scale but the resistance of the Syrian people has helped the country to survive the anticipated disintegration and brought people hope.

Now, in a meeting with the custodian of Hazrat Ruqayyah (SA) holy shrine located in Syria, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, Astan Quds Razavi’s chief custodian stated, “Although the arrogant powers’ conspiracy in Syria caused a lot of civil, economic and infrastructural damage, it strengthened the spirit of pride and resistance in Syrian people, and God provides dignity for those who resist the oppressors and the arrogant.”
He added that the spirit of resistance of the Syrian people led them to victory against the conspiracies of the enemies. “Today, the same countries which have tried to carry out the sinister plans of foreign powers in Syria are seeking to establish diplomatic relations with it, and this dignity is the result of resistance.”
Highlighting the influential role of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force in defeating ISIS in Syria, he noted, “Upon the efforts of the Syrian people and army and the military consultation of Iranian advisors coupled with active and influential presence of martyred Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Syria emerged victorious in this great trial.”
He elsewhere considered the holy shrines of the Infallible Imams (AS) as the centers to spread the pure teachings of Islam saying, “Just as the Infallible Imams and their progenies were the source of goodness, blessings, enlightenment and education of the society during their lifetime, now their honorable shrines should be the center of religious and educational teachings for humanity,” he said.
Referring to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s order for holy shrines to become a cultural hub, he pointed to the valuable social and cultural functions of the holy shrines in Islamic Iran in recent years, saying, “Similar to the holy shrines in Iran, the holy shrine of Hazrat Ruqayyah in Syria should be the base for explaining the sacred goals and message of the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) and the teachings of the religion.”
Hoj. Marvi also underscored the development and deepening of relations between AQR and the holy shrine of Hazrat Ruqayyah in various fields, and expressed readiness to transfer the experiences of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in various civil, cultural and health fields to its counterparts.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ahmad al-Ashqar, the custodian of Hazrat Ruqayyah (SA) holy shrine, while expressing pleasure for visiting Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine, presented a report on their activities in Syria, and signaled his desire to benefit as much as possible from the AQR experiences in various fields for the administration of the holy shrine of Hazrat Ruqayyah.
