Preservation of human dignity main focus of future government’s foreign policy: President-elect Raeisi
Iran’s president-elect Ebrahim Raeisi says the country’s culture of discourse must be in line with the culture attributed to Imam Reza (AS).

Addressing people at birthday anniversary celebration of Imam Reza (AS) he said: “I do thank God for giving me the opportunity of being present at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and this is a great honor for me to be among pilgrims and people of Mashhad on birthday anniversary of the eighth Imam (AS)”.
Pointing to the need for understanding supreme position of an Imam, Raeisi stated: “We attain wisdom in the light of an Imam and human’s dignity comes to reality when Imam is truly understood”.
Ayatollah Raeisi went on to say: “All those who are introducing themselves as  servants are not real servants because giving service has got different interpretations. Some people have got a materialistic viewpoint. Others have got humanistic approaches and some other people consider serving people as something for God. This last group of people serve people of the society in the light of their attention to God”.
The nation’s president-elect further stated that the main axis of the servant government would be people and all workers of the government must consider themselves as servants of people as Imam Ali’s (AS) conduct considers serving people of society with a divine approach.
Elsewhere, he said justice must be main axis of economy, adding “In this round of elections, people voted for revolutionary values and formation of an efficient government. In our government, economic justice, justice in domestic issues, justice in the field of education and social issues will be highly attended; the most important issue in foreign policy will be the preservation of human dignity”.
Emphasizing that future government’s main goal will be to eliminate people’s concern about coronavirus, he reiterated: “One of the first steps that the future government will take is accelerating public vaccination.”
Pointing to meritocracy as the main principle for choosing Cabinet’s members, Raeisi said: “I consider it necessary to place Imam Reza’s (AS) teachings in all aspects of affairs and I advise all colleagues in different administrative levels to pay special attention to this important principle”.
Imam Reza’s (AS) birthday celebration ceremony was held at the holy shrine’s Holy Prophet Courtyard with full observance of health protocols and in the presence of a number of provincial and national officials including Astan Quds Razavi’s chief custodian Hoj. Ahmad Marvi.
