Honoring sophisticated, creative, artistic and effective media productions with the topic of Imam Reza’s (AS) teachings were among main goals of the festival. Supporting creators of such works was also another objective behind holding the event.
News, films, podcasts, pictures, graphics, and designing were all important entries of the festival from which top and distinguished works were selected.
Speaking in this ceremony, Mohammad Mahdi Kheirjou, head of Communications and Media Center of Astan Quds Razavi, stated: “The festival’s secretariat received around nine thousand works from over 2500 media activists”.
Akbar Nasrollahi, scientific secretary of the festival said: “Imam Reza holy shrine is like Imam Hossein shrine and the important events of Hajj and Arba’een resemble a real macro media. The transmitter of this media is the Imam himself and the audience is the whole people. Messages of this media are kindness, dignity, science, dialogue, self-improvement and paying attention to human rights”.
Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, AQR chief custodian, in turn mentioned that sociological and anthropological principles should be considered in all media activities.
He added: “People are thirsty for the truth and religion of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is full of these truths; the survival of the Shia religion throughout history is a testament to this fact”.
Underscoring the need for developing media activities at Imam Reza holy shrine, Marvi stressed: “According to the statistics, before the outbreak of coronavirus Mashhad used to host around 30 million visitors from inside and outside the country; therefore, media productions of the holy shrine have to be in line with the demands of this large congregation of people”.
