The second Zarih (burial chamber), made of steel and studded with gems, known as Negin-Neshan, was dedicated by Shahrukh Mirza, the son of Mirza Qoli Mirza, (the grandson of Nader Shah) to Astan Quds Razavi and was installed on the holy grave in 1160 A.H.
This Zarih, which is now preserved in the sacred cellar, was made of steel, and is decorated with more than 2000 pieces of ruby and emerald stones.
It is over 260 years now that the second Zarih is over the holy grave of Imam Reza (A.S.). This Zarih was installed for the first time over the holy grave right under the third Zarih, and later under the fourth Zarih. Finally, at the time of installing the fifth Zarih in 1379 H.S., it was transferred to the sacred cellar to be mounted on the gravestone of Imam Reza (A.S.). In this way the endower's intention was fulfilled. An inscription mounted over the entrance of the Zarih in Nasta’liq script reads as follows:
«This Zarih and its knobs on the four sides, all studded with gems, was endowed and installed on the holy grave of Imam Reza (A.S.) in 1160 A.H. by the grandson of Nader Shahrukh Shah al-Husseini al-Musawi Bahadur Khan, a needy creature to Allah's mercy and the soil of respected pilgrims of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.) - where Allah's angels safeguard. »
