In this age, the first dome was built on the tomb.
Amir Imad-al-Dawlah (one of the authorities of the Seljukian dynasty) renovated the holy shrine in the early years of the sixth century of Hijrah. Sharaf-al-Din Abu Tahir Qumi-the minister of Sultan Sanjar Seljuki- erected the first dome on the holy mausoleum of Imam Reza (A.S.) and Turkan Zamarrud – the granddaughter of Sultan Sanjar's sister - decorated the plinths of the holy shrine with some precious tiles known as Sanjari tiles in the year 512A.H.
