According to Astan News, director of the treasury of stamps, banknotes, and coins of Astan Quds Razavi added to this report, “This exquisite and precious collection was dedicated to Imam Reza (A.S.) museum by an American collector named Ms. Qamar Bani Hashem known as ‘Shame Mumen’.”
“The dedicated coins belong to Sultan Farukh Sayar and Muhammad Shah, two Indian Gurkani emperors”, Muhammad Hussein Yazdinejad said.
“The coins have been minted from 1127 A.H./1715 to 1144 A.H./1731 in Ottawa, Cavalier, Akhtarnegar, Kura, Mustaqar al-Khilafa, and Shahabad Qanuj”, he added.
Pointing to the poem written on one of the coins, he said, “Over a coin the following Persian poem can be seen: ‘the coin was minted on gold by grace of God/ the king of the sea and the land, Farukh Sayar’; it marks the importance and spread of Persian language across the Indian peninsula.”
