According to Astan News, a specialized meeting entitled “Consolidating the Friendship and Brotherhood of the Two Muslim Countries of Iran And Iraq” was held by the efforts of Imam Reza (A.S.) International University with the participation of students and professors at the conference’s hall of the University.
Abdul Karim Nisi, an Iraqi cultural and political activist said at the meeting, “A great sedition is awaiting the two nations of Iran and Iraq, because ISIS, if it is completely destroyed, there are still those who follow the ISIS model of thinking. The deviant trends are aiming for division between the Islamic countries.”
“The Iraqi elites and students, who are present in Iran for studying and living, must convey what is real and tangible” the Iraqi cultural and political activist added.
Further in this meeting, Saeed Sherbaf, a member of the faculty at Imam Reza (A.S.) International University also stated, “In a part of the book of Ashura’s lessons, which is about Imam Khomeini’s (R.A.) speeches regarding the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (A.S.), the grandson of the founder of the most sacred revolution of the world you read that the elites are very important in revolutions, because any mistake and tripping can have many destructive effects.”
“The enemies of Islam want to break down the centralized and unified regions of Iran’s western provinces and has targeted ethnic differences. The people of Iran and Iraq have plenty of cultural and historical commonalities and there is no religious source to determine the borders of the two countries,” he said “The border between countries is contractual; the contractual borders between the countries of the Islamic world does not mean differentiation in commonalities.”
At the end of the meeting, a statement by students at Imam Reza (A.S.) International University was read in the condemnation of the arson of Iranian consulate in Iraq; which reads: “Hereby, Iranian and Iraqi students at Imam Reza (A.S.) International University condemn the arson of the Iranian Consulate in Basra, and they regard this as contradictory to the spirit of humanity and Muslims and will do their utmost efforts to unify the two comradely and neighboring countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq.”
