Iraqi Experts on Manuscripts Were Trained in the Astan Quds Razavi Library
The Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi trained a team of cataloging experts of Iraq in the field of manuscripts for a week.

According to Astan News correspondent, a board of library cataloging experts and the gallery of the manuscripts of Hazrat Abolfazl (A.S.) from Iraq, with the aim of benefiting from training courses in the field of manuscripts, which was held over their request at the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi traveled to Iran.
The group participated in the preliminary period of manuscripts cataloging in the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi in September last year, which owing to the positive feedback received from the training in the gallery of the manuscripts of Hazrat Abolfazl (A.S.) requested a supplementary cataloging course from Astan Quds Razavi Organization.
In this regard, the manuscript gallery of the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi held the first phase of cataloging for a week and in the form of fifteen hours of training for this group.
Introduction to codicology, manuscripts cataloging, illustration schools, bibliography and epistemology, artistic manuscript analysis, types of calligraphy, types of paper and colors were among the topics that were discussed in this course.
Furthermore, exquisite artistic works were also reviewed at various historical periods, such as Seljuk, Timurid, Safavid, Qajar and contemporary.
The group has also been trained in the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi in order to learn binding and restoration and continuously in the field of organizing manuscripts, attracting manuscripts, restoration and imaging and so on and they benefited from the views and experiences of codicology experts and restoration masters of Astan Quds Razavi.
It is worth mentioning that this group invited experts from the Central Library of the Astan Quds Razavi to attend the annual cataloging conference of the manuscripts in Iraq and visit the library and the Manuscript House of Astan Abbasia (A.S.).
The Iraqi delegation dedicated the book “Fehers al-Fahares” with the theme of introducing the world’s manuscripts and the book “List of Manuscripts of the Istanbul Topkapi Saray Library” on this trip to the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi.
